		<description>Laure, the hike was about 16 miles with 3,100 feet of elevation gain. 

An easier option would be to hike a loop up Hamms Gulch, to Windy Hill, then down Spring Ridge Trail, which would come in under 8 miles. 

Of course, you could also drive right up Skyline Boulevard and hike up Windy Hill from there, then go exploring out-and-back on the Bay Area Ridge Trail.</description>
